Scattering is what happens when you open a lot of windows at the same time all the applications on the laptop.

Looking for interesting articles, inspiration by flipping through DIYs or TUTOs. There's plenty of it and it really makes you want to get into patronage, DIY, customization, recycling...
Now why not a cover tutorial, a pillowcase or cushion, I bet there are several on my blog fan of cushions scattered throughout the house, and in addition it is covers with zippers and which says closure illuminates says neatness, no missed hem threads, no dirt as long as you can wash them, and above all difficulty in sewing the zip.

Believe me it's a beginner's tutorial, no worries. Take your measurements, buy fabrics or recycle old clothes... and onwards.
for the pillowcase measurements you can make 40 by 40 cm with a seam allowance of 2 cm it becomes 42 by 42 cm.
If you succeed in this tutorial you will challenge yourself with a cushion of all shapes, I promise you!!!
Ready??? Zip forward!!!
Take the cushion measurements
And gooooooooo...( video guide)

Gather your sewing kit:
pins, thread, scissors, an iron, and a sewing machine with both a regular foot and a zipper foot.

First trace and then cut.
Cut 2 pieces of fabric, one for the front of the pillow and one for the back and don't forget the seam allowance.
Decide on the edge where you will lay the zipper. Trace the location and pin the fabric.

Assemble the two sides of the fabric, normal seam at both ends wide stitches easy to undo at the location of the zipper.
Separate the margins using the iron, flattening them.

Prepare to sew the zipper. And yes, it is at the beginning that we must place it.
Then the assembly of the parts favors the sewing and the maintenance of the zipper. On the tracing marks, fix the zipper on the top facing downwards using the pins.

Take a long, deep breath and let's go.

First, change the machine foot, put on the zipper foot.

Hold the zip well and start sewing with a regular stitch. Get to the zipper you won't be able to continue,
stop!!! keep your needle down at the bottom of the fabric. Lift your foot and carefully unzip the zipper past the foot, lower it and continue to the end. Then the same for the other side.

"Caution to turn never raise the needle, leave the needle in your fabric, raise your foot, turn your fabric, lower your foot, and continue".

Once the sewing of the zipper is finished, place the seam ripper;

With a seam ripper, carefully undo this long stitch you made along the zipper.
Back to your machine, change feet and put on the universal foot or the regular stitch foot, start sewing the remaining edges, go diagonally in the corners a little ready at 45°.
Cut the ends of the corners, it will allow you to have a nice finish of the pillowcase, seen from the outside.
That said, hard pillowcases are finished edges
Overlock the assembled pillowcase around all edges to prevent fraying of the fabric.
No serger !! no worries do like me with a nice zig-zag stitch I run my edges and that's all nice and neat.

this is the final step now, turn the pillowcase over, put the cushion in it.
Good, well done!!! It wasn't terrible, was it?
