How to achieve an invisible or almost invisible hem / hem handmade

Hemming is a stitch that can make a big difference.
This delicate stitch can only be done by hand, the aim being that the stitches are not visible right side up. it's just a helping hand and you won't be able to do without it!
The hand hemming is totally invisible on the outside, and can even be on both sides if you master the technique well.
Obviously, it gives a nice fall to your outfits, much more flexible than the so rigid machine hem.

The trick:

As you can see here on the video, for an invisible hem you will need a needle that is neither too thin nor too long, a thread needle, not too long either, otherwise it may tangle and make knots; tone on tone, pins to hold the plaice.
Once the length of the garment has been defined, or the laundry...mark the fold of the hem. Fold the fabric back on itself, secure the folded value with a few pins.

Hold the fabric well inside the fold facing you, put on your needle.

Start sewing horizontally, almost parallel to your fabric, and not vertically, as you do with a sewing machine.

Your needle doesn't have to go through the fabric, it just has to slip under a few fibers, no more. The goal is that the points are not visible upright.

The stitches of the hem by hand are carefully sewn, in a light and fine zig-zag since the thread is not doubled, generally this part of the garment is not subjected to any pressure. This is why it is sewn with finesse.

We are there, all in flexibility, Do not pull too much on your thread, the tension must remain fluid, it will balance out as the sewing progresses.

I deliberately chose a darker tone of thread to show the regularity of space from one point to another, including the dotted lines visible in the place. Take it off for a tone on tone and you'd notice the difference.

The purl is a regular open zig-zag stitch that with time and practice will become downright invisible. For a double-sided invisible hem.

This method requires more practice, patience and attention to detail, but it guarantees the location's invisibility.

For me it is the simplest and fastest, the finish is then absolutely impeccable.
